After I install the latest Isolator build (doing a trial currently), Visual Studio 2008 has failures loading the DevExpress XAF (Express App Framework). At VS08 startup, it reports: "Package 'Developer Express eXpressApp Framework Package' has failed to load properly (GUID=xxxxx). Please contact package vendor for assistance." Etc.

Uninstall Isolator, all is fine again. Reinstall, failure. This particular DevExpress package uses the extension .xafml, which brings up a model editor program to edit special xml files in projects, within the VS08 GUI.

Is this a problem with which you are familiar? I've had to uninstall Isolator for now, since XAF is part of my current project.[/img]

Hi,

We didn't encounter this issue before with DevExpress package. Can you try install Isolator and disable the productivity feature (Tools -> Add-in Manager -> Typemock Productivity) from loading on startup? It is most likely the these packages are in conflict.

After reinstalling Isolator and disabling the Typemock Productivity add-in, you are correct: the package load failure goes away. You have pinpointed where the incompatibility lies.

By disabling this add-in, though, I'm giving up swatches of the 5.4 new features, correct? So I hope the two can be taught to get along....

By the way, this is with the latest 9.3.2 version of the DevExpress libraries.

Hi,

Many of the new features are part of productivity add-in.

We'll investigate the conflict with the packages in order to make them work together. I'll contact you offline for more details.

Just to clear up a dangling subject: version 6.0 no longer shows this problem.
