I periodically notice that I no longer see the Test Navigator window, and then under Tools/Extension Manager I see that Typemock Isolator is Disabled and the Enable button is grayed out. I then have to rerun the setup to get it working again.

I have yet to isolate (har har) when exactly this happens. I have a nagging suspicion that it may happen if I open a second instance of Visual Studio, but I'm not sure. Has anyone else experienced this? It's extremely annoying.

Hi,

Does this happen everytime you run VS?

Make sure that there is no Typemock extension in the following path:

%localappdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\[Your VS version]\Extensions.

If there is pleaes remove it (you may need to ren devenv.exe /setup after removing it) and restart VS.

Let me know if it works.

Hi,

I deleted the extension at that path, but all this seems to do is remove the extension. Then I have to run the repair installation to get it back (when then puts it back at that path).

I've verified that this happens whenever I open more than one instance of Visual Studio. For example after the above repair, everything was fine. The Typemock menu was back in Visual Studio, and I was able to run tests.

I then opened another instance of VS with a different solution, and this instance did not have a Typemock menu, and under Tools/Extension Manager, Typemock was disabled with the Enable option grayed out. When I closed and reopened the original VS instance, it was then in the same condition: no Typemock menu, and the extension disabled.

In other words it appears that opening more than one instance of VS disables the extension, and the only way to get it back that I know of is to rerun the Typemock installer in repair mode.
Which Isolater version do you use?
Hi Alex,

Sorry for the delay; I'm using version 8.0.0.145.

Hi Pete,

Please download the latest version of typemock from here.

It should solve your issue.

What I have is the latest version I was able to download before my maintenance expired. With maintenance expired, my understanding is that I will not be able to upgrade, correct?
